Podgorica Airport to Ulcinj by taxi
Ulcinj is the southernmost town on the coast, with an old town on a rock, a long sandy beach that runs to the Albanian border and a laid-back, different feel from the rest of the riviera. Podgorica is its airport. Here is how the MonteGO pickup works, which of the two roads drivers take, and where taxis stop from the Old Town to Ada Bojana.

How to book this ride
Book at the belt
Pickup Podgorica Airport; destination your Ulcinj hotel, Old Town, Mala Plaža, a Velika Plaža hotel or Ada Bojana. Confirm.
Meet the car at the terminal
The app shows the car and plate; the pickup is outside arrivals.
South to the last town on the coast
Via the tunnel and Bar, or inland past the lake. Pay on arrival.
Pickup at Podgorica Airport
The taxi pickup is directly outside the terminal by the car park; the app shows the car, colour and plate when the driver accepts. Terminal Wi-Fi is enough to book. Ulcinj is spread out, from the town on its hill to the twelve-kilometre beach and the river island at its end, so write the exact hotel or place in the booking; it changes the road the driver chooses.
Two roads from Podgorica to Ulcinj
The coast road goes south through the Sozina tunnel to Bar, then continues along the shore past the old town of Bar and over the low headlands to Ulcinj. It is the road most drivers use and the one that passes the most on the way. The inland road runs along the southern side of Skadar Lake through Vladimir and comes into Ulcinj from the east; it is quieter and sometimes quicker to the beach end and Ada Bojana, and it is the road drivers take when the coast is busy on summer weekends.
Either way it is a proper drive without mountain passes, and it is routine at night.
Where taxis stop in Ulcinj
Ulcinj's places are far apart. From MonteGO rides, in order from the town outwards:
Ulcinj Old Town
The walled town on the rock above the small beach. Pedestrian inside; taxis drop you at the gate by the car park at the top or at the foot by the beach, whichever your host prefers.
Mala Plaža and the centre
The town beach below the Old Town and the streets behind it with hotels, apartments and cafés. The driver stops at the door.
Velika Plaža hotels and camps
The long sandy beach south of town, with hotels, camps and kite schools strung along the beach road. Give the name; they are kilometres apart.
Ada Bojana
The river island at the very end of the beach, reached over a bridge. The taxi goes to the island's gate or your accommodation inside.
Ulcinj bus station
On the edge of the centre, for coaches north along the coast or over the border to Shkodër.
Kitesurfers, luggage and late flights
Velika Plaža is a kitesurfing beach and this route carries board bags. A standard car takes two large cases; choose the larger vehicle in the app for kite gear or a group of five or more. Night flights into Podgorica are routine and MonteGO drivers cover them; scheduling the pickup for your landing time means the driver is assigned before you land.
Other ways from Podgorica Airport to Ulcinj
Coaches run from Podgorica bus station to Ulcinj, which means a taxi to the station and bags handled twice, and they end at Ulcinj bus station rather than the beach. There is no bus from the airport. Pre-booked transfers meet you with a sign. A rental car is useful in Ulcinj because the beach is long and the town is far from it; even so, for the arrival a licensed taxi booked in the app is the simplest, and cars can be rented in town.
Ulcinj to Podgorica Airport
Set the pickup to your hotel, the Old Town gate, your camp on Velika Plaža or the Ada Bojana gate, and step out when the app shows the car close.
