Podgorica's terminal is compact, with arrivals on the ground floor and the taxi and car-park area directly outside. The road from the airport into Podgorica

The airport lies beside the village of Golubovci on the flat plain south of the city. The road runs straight north across the plain, past fields and the airport access roundabout, into the southern suburbs and then along the wide boulevards into the centre. It is a simple, quick ride with no hills and, outside of the morning and late-afternoon rush, little traffic.

Where the driver takes you within the city depends on your destination: the centre around Trg Nezavisnosti and the boulevards, the older quarter of Stara Varoš, the newer district across the Morača river where the Hilton and the government buildings are, or the bus and railway station on the southern edge.

  Across the river, where many apartment rentals and offices are. Give the street and number.

Night flights and luggage

There is no regular airport bus into the city; a shuttle has appeared and disappeared over the years and cannot be relied on. The railway station at Golubovci village is a walk from the terminal and trains are infrequent. Pre-booked transfers meet you with a sign. Rental cars are useful if you are heading to the mountains, less so for a city stay. For the ride into town, a licensed taxi booked in the app is the straightforward option.
