The road from the airport to Petrovac

The taxi goes south across the plain and through the Sozina tunnel to the coast at Sutomore, then turns north on the coast road. The stretch from Sutomore to Petrovac runs above the sea over a couple of headlands with views down to small coves, and drops into Petrovac's bay from the south. It is a straightforward road without passes, quicker than the Cetinje mountain crossing that serves Budva, and routine at night.

On summer weekend afternoons the coast road can be slow around Sutomore; the driver knows the timing.

Families, luggage and late flights

Petrovac is a family resort and this route sees pushchairs and big cases. A standard car takes two large suitcases; choose the larger vehicle in the app for more or for five or more people. Child seats are not standard in Montenegrin taxis; add a note when booking. Night flights into Podgorica are covered, and the tunnel road at night is quick.

Other ways from Podgorica Airport to Petrovac

Coaches along the coast stop at Petrovac, but they leave from Podgorica bus station, not the airport, so you would need a taxi to the station first and bags handled twice. Pre-booked transfers meet you with a sign. A rental car is fine for exploring but parking in Petrovac in August is tight. For the arrival, a licensed taxi booked in the app is the simplest.
